ROBIN - Newbury 5.30
A more competitive race here over a trip of 11 furlongs.
At the top end of the market, Bobby Kennedy probably needs more cut in the ground and some appreciable rain, Luckys Dream ran with some promise after along break last time in a muddling 4 runner race so is hard to enthuse too much about and Mawkeb is far better on the AW than turf so far.
Mrembo is interesting on several pieces of form and may be returning to form and mark and fitness it can win off, I'll add to TRACKER as my niggle is the best runs are on " quirky tracks" like Bath and Epsom and less compelling on this Track with a long and very flat Straight. Trojan Truth needs to settle better but has shown some promise.
The pair I really like are THUNDER FLASH who runs for Ian Williams with excellent Claimer Sean D Bowen booked. Thunder Flash ran very well when winning up the hill at Leicester twice last summer off marks of 53 and 54, it slipped on the turn on seasonal debut so you can ignore the finishing position and if fit enough should be very competitive here off a mark of 58 with Bowen's 3lbs Claim.
At bigger Odds, I think CHARLIE ARTHUR is worth a smaller investment, An AW winner off a mark of 75, a Turf winning mark of 61, it may still just need this but off a mark of 61 (have added to TRACKER) and on past evidence it should be fit enough to have a real go and I do this the true mark of this horse's ability overall is somewhere mid point between the turf and the AW mark, so high 60's, which means it is potentially very well handicapped on firm Turf.
