Musselburgh 4.35

MUSSELBURGH 4.35 - 2 miles - 13 run Good to Soft (rain)
A race in which it' very hard to find anything at the top of the market with value that's crying out to be backed.
A few like Arthurs Secret, Kaizer and Three Castles have glimmers of form, not convinced that either Kaizer or Three Castles are fully proven at this trip on the Flat in likely soft Going and Arthurs Secret looks more the type to plod on past floundering rivals IF they go a good gallop and all get stretched out.
At the head of the market, Nakeeta is not the horse it was and although it's won on soft Going, that was at its peak around 5 years ago. Sea Art is not proven fully at the trip in soft considering the short price and Stormin Norman is a Course and Distance winner and perhaps the one they all have to beat here, although most of its best runs are on "Good" Going. If you want a "win saver" I'd say Stormin Norman.
I'll have a 1/2 point each way though on AUXILIARY. Not totally proven at trip but has won and placed at 1 mile 5 furlongs > 1 mile 6 furlongs on stiffer tracks than this off marks in mid 60's (highest 67) in soft Going. This is an infinitely easier track than Carlisle and Hamilton where 2 of those runs have happened and if they go a sensible pace and Auxillary doesn't use too much early energy, I think a bold run is very likely. A mark of 65 with a 5lbs Claimer looks very workable and Trainer Liam Bailey is in decent form.
