Lingfield 12.45

By National Hunt UK (Robin T)

Lingfield 12.45 - Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 furlongs - soft - 12 run (early heavy rain)

The more I looked at this race the more perplexed I was by the market.

Elmdale for NT-D has some OK Maiden P2P form but yet to translate that to Rules, although the Yard is in good form. Movethechains for the equally in-form Gary Moore yard is another who has yet to transfer P2P form to Rules and both could leave me with egg on my face here.

Robaddan has moved to Ben Pauling and was out of form and a sour horse last season but another with some decent P2P form.

I kept coming back though to the pair at longest Odds and the past form of both does offer some interesting reading.

HATCHET JACK was a top Class and winning Class 2/3 Hurdler at best winning off a mark of 120 and this trip in Soft and Heavy Going held no fears. It will have benefitted from it's seasonal debut and whilst it doesn't look a natural Chaser and has come to Fences late, that proven engine in the mud and at the trip is fascinating and worth a small bet at the price I think.

INVINCIBLE CAVE has Course form and Distance form and further than this over Hurdles too. It also had a Chase win off a mark of 92 and running off a mark of 96 with the benefit of being race fit is another who could easily out-run it's Odds.
