Hexham - Tuesday 31st August

By National Hunt UK (Robin T)

A could of mildly competitive longer Distance races close a Card that looks likely to be dominated by horses at the top end of the market.

In the 7.15 the one that ticks most boxes for me is DUTCH CANYON. A horse who has won off a mark of 80,and been runner up off marks of 82 and 83. The trip and Going are fine, the 80 day break doesn't concern me too much as it has been placed off longer breaks and higher marks in the past. Some of these are unproven at the trip and out of form so it looks the best each way proposition in the race.

In the final race at 7.55 a similar scenario and the one who ticks all the boxes here is the veteran EVER SO MUCH. A Course and Distance winner in May off a mark of 99 with wins prior to that off marks of 99 and 92, still therefore retains enough ability to be competitive and clearly at home on the Track here. A mark of 103 gives it little scope from the handicapper but it is a poor race and I think if it ran up to a mark in the high 90's it could be sufficient to get an extra few pounds home in the likely fast growing gloom.

TRACKERS - Dutch Canyon (7.15) / Ever So Much (7.45) and 1/4 point each way double.
