Ffos Llas 1.00 - Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles - 17 Run Good to Soft - Class 5
Ar the top of the market MEMPHIS BELL @ 5/2 is in cracking form, gets another penalty after food wins in last 2 runs including over Course and Distance so up from 79 to 87 and now 93, where's the ceiling, we'll see today, if you want a win saver to cover a couple of Tracker Tips, feel free to do so.
I see Milanstorm as an obvious danger from the Twison-Davies yard that some follow blindly at this stage of the season, and also Kendelu whose mark has also risen on the back of wins last twice from 88 to 94 and now 99, I'm not sure the trip or the slightly easier Going will help this one.
Hang Tough from Jonjo may just need the run I feel and may need Going to be a bit more testing too based on past form and Rebel Leader is one at a bigger price who has winning 3 mile P2P form who may just now be fit enough to improve after a pair of moderate Uttoxeter runs. If you wanted a bit of shrapnel on that one i would not put you off and one to track after today in a small race.
The pair I like though against the top 3-4 in the market are HAVANA RIVER + MIND YOUR BACK.
Havana River has stayed on a few times suggesting this trip will be ideal, Sean Bowen rides for Johnny Farrelly whose horses seem to be running better after a couple of seasons when what looked to be a Trainer going places hit a bit of a plateau. A few seasons back I'd have put him at same upwardly mobile place as Fergal O'Brien, but Yards in past 2 years went in completely different trajectories.
Mind your Back will have needed seasonal debut finishing 4th. The winner and third in that race have come out and won since, so it looks pretty solid, Mulhollands horses improve for a run and I think Tom Scu will have this one sat just off the pace and see what the horse has got in the tank down the final straight.
TRACKERS - Havana River + Mind Your Back (win saver if you want it on Memphis Bell) - if either selection a n/r look at Rebel Leader
