At the top end of the market the likes of Captain Haddock a Course and Distance winner of this race in 2021 but gradually regressive has a chance as does Citizen General although a 5lbs penalty and a move away from Good to Firm Going doesn't inspire confidence, they and Warning Sign as ex French horse who will have been targeted for the race by the Gary Moore yard, are all likely dangers but I will overlook them for some I just feel are overpriced and have good form chances in the likely conditions.

 

The Irish raiders Liberated (especially) and Belgoprince are dark horses to fear too 

 

The three I most like though in these conditions are WARHOL who gets optimum Going, optimum trip, a very competitive handicap mark and a very competent jockey and as a result looks cracking each way value. I have a hunch that PREMIER LIGNE for Hughie Morrison has been laid out a little for this race and runs at Lingfield (turf) and Brighton are certainly pointers that the horse can run downhill and round a left hand downhill turn, evidence stacks up for this one.

 

At big odds and from another Yard that fancy a tilt at all races of this type is the Tim Easterby trained RING OF BEARA , it's shown in running prominently in similar ground over Hurdles that it both has an engine and will stay all day down the hill and its runs for Richard Hughes suggest it has enough tactical pace to figure too and I wonder if they might just pop it out and kick off Tattenham Corner and play "catch me if you can"??
