Chepstow 8.30

ROBIN is in the hot seat today and here is his analysis-:

Chepstow 8.30

HAMMY END looks to be a very strong and worthy favourite here and if you want a win saver at around 2/1 I would not put you off. The others though at the top of the market have little commendable Good Ground (or softer) turf form and appear to be more suited by AW so I have had a look for some value further down the field.

Hatsaway for the in form Pat Phelan should run a big race, 2 wins and a place from the last 5 runners from the Yard indicate that this 9 year old should be good to go but the price reflects the stable form more than the horses, so we will leave alone but rate it the biggest danger to the favourite other than the tip and tracker.

STAR OF ATHENA is a consistent horse in this Grade in these kind of conditions. Has had a run and off a nice mark with Harry Bentley up in the saddle looks just about the e/w value of the race.

Of those at bigger Odds if the afternoon showers do materialise in to something a bit more significant then ex Irish horse WATCHMAN may be worth a 1/2 point Tracker bet. The horse has been placed a few times in big field low Grade Irish handicaps off higher comparativ marks and if it is going to produce something similar in the UK this looks an ideal opportunity.

TIP - Star Of Athena - 1 point e/w / Tracker - Watchman - 1/2 point each way (win saver if you want it on Hammy End)
