Chepstow 2.25
By National Hunt UK (Robin T)
ROBIN - Chepstow 2.25 - Handicap - Class 6 - 15 run - Going Good
We've had some very good days at Chepstow this summer with nice priced winners and a couple of cracking forecasts so let's see if we can find something again before we switch our attention to the Jumpers in a few weeks.
The 3 at the head of the market look very solid but the reality of the race is they are the best of a seemingly poor lot.
Bama Lama has form figures of 2-2-3-2 from the in-form millman yard and WILL take all the beating. Quarter Blue is a maiden who has had a wind operation but did run a decent race at the Track in June. Peachey Carnehan should be staying on late at this trip and is a horse who has often flattered to deceive and tends to find reasons not to win. The early 9/2 doesn't seem much value but as we saw with Bearwith yesterday horses can drift (that one went to 8/1) and if PC drifted to that sort of price and won, we'd all be pretty frustrated. I'll play a reverse f/cast with Bama Lama and PEACHEY CARNEHAN @ 9/2 and have a small e/w saver on PC.
At the other end of the spectrum Musatayir drops to 6 furlongs and has run prominently over further and the yard can find one here from time to time. Luscifer is another who drops in trip and has a glimmer on some old form. I'll have £1 e/w side bet on MUSTAYIR @ 50/1
The standout value though for me are EPEIUS and FACT OR FABLE
EPEIUS needs to break better but runs to the line, the trainer has made a favourable impression and from stall 6 it should get a tow in to the last furlong. FACT OR FABLE was a runner up over 7 furlongs last time fading late on. It's drawn in Stall 1 and should run prominently from there and if repeating its last run looks a very nice each way option.
Shrapnel - Epeius + Fact Or Fable (£1 e/w on Mustayir)
