Cartmel 5.10
By National Hunt UK (Robin T)
ROBIN - Cartmel 5.10 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 6 furlongs - 14 run - Going Good
As with the Ripon race Robin is keen to point out the solidity at the top of the market and suggests a small reverse Forecast on Ange Endormi / Binteherdonethat and if you want a small T/Cast perm add in Calliope.
In terms of the rest of the field, Coup De Gold may just need the run off a break of 172 days, Kilchreest Moon is back hurdling and I have a niggle re this trip which might just stretch the horse, OUR SAM is trained by Jimmy Moffatt and ridden by Charlotte Jones and with their Course record and prowess you can back them blind e/w if that floats your boat! Lone Star is an interesting horse that we'll TRACK forwards, ex Phillips Hobbs now with Phil Kirby and a hore who may have untapped potential once he gets race fit and settles in.
Rukwa could spring back to life for the Englands but is probably best watched until it shows a bit more.
The pair I'm most keen on are especially TOKORAMORE who won over Course and Distance last August off a mark of 89, won again shortly afterwards at Hexham off a mark of 97, has placed off a mark of 94 and is now back to a very appealing mark of 91. I'll be disappointed if we don't get some enhanced place money at least.
If you want a £1 each way bet at very big odds have a close look at HATTAAB who won at this sort of trip for Graeme McPherson and Fergal O'Brien at Worcester just over a year ago off a mark of 96. It's dropped to a mark of 74 and as we always say "every horse has a level" - certainly worth £2 to find out if this horse has yet found that level.
Shrapnel - Tokoramore / £1 e/w Hattaab - both e/w (see notes re reverse F/Cast / T/Cast thoughts)
