The final 2 races on the Cork Card are 2 Divisions of The Fermoy Handicap over 7 furlongs.
There is undoubtedly more quantity than quality in these fields but with the enhanced places a pair who have been running well and look to be coming in to some kind of form caught my eye and it's a bonus that they are in separate Divisions. Both would have decent enhanced place chances with luck in running.
CORK 4.35 - SHES IN THE GAME was 3rd on seasonal debut and caught my eye and notebook with that run. A step back to 5 furlongs saw the horse outpaced but still much nearer the front of the field than the back. Young 10lbs Claimer Neve Bennett looks perfectly capable, riding the horse well on seasonal debut and it does start to look like a genuine (if limited) type who will give us a good run for our money. The draw in Stall 15 is not great but in recent times the Draw Bias low on the rond Course and High on the Sprint Course has been nullified a fair bit. I'm quietly confident this one can nick a place at least.
CORK 5.05 - SILVERBACK JACK again caught my eye last time out and has been much nearer the front than the back in 2 very big field races this season at the trip. 5th of 30 and 8th of 28 in 2 races at The Curragh both at 66/1 and an interesting run here last year when 6th of 14 at 300/1!!!!!!....that saddle the horse with an unrealistic handicap mark in the mid 60's, has come down now to a far more realistic mark of 52. Keeps getting high draw numbers, that may have helped more at The Curragh than here but with Mark Enright booked again (rode on seasonal debut), every chance of another bold run at bif Odds .
