Sean Trackers - Naas Monday 8th June

Naas

4.00 -: Gee Rex is obvious favourite given connections but at the price I want to take him on.

The Draw here on Good to Firm is a bit of an unknown, it's not too often Good to Firm here. Doonard Prince is a veteran and CD specialist who can "pop up" but all of its recent better runs have been with cut in ground so I'll leave today. Lincoln is ex Mick Channon been around for ages and once very decent and could outrun Odds in this company. Poets Pride is an ex David Barron horse, moved to another David - Marnane and one of the more likely ones and just left out of the final picks. Zathura at huge Odds is one who could spring a surprise but I kept coming back to a pair I can't separate so with enhanced place Odds I will have a small stake on both.

SCORCHING HEAT was a Class 2 performer for Andrew Balding not that long ago, seems not to have settled quickly over here but that form is irrepressible in this Grade and it really should be right in contention here.  The Draw in 13 is hard to fathom and my other pick is Drawn 16 so I have to hop that's not massively disadvantageous. There are mixed mesages though, so I'll take the risk. SUNSET NOVA could now be on a nice mark and is in the right Grade and has shown best form on this type of Ground, I think this one is a genuine contender.

1/2 point each way on SCORCHING HEAT and SUNSET NOVA.

4.30 Yale was heavily backed when winning before the lockdown at Dundalk, may win again but I'm happy to take it on running on turf.

This is definitely the trickier of the 2 Divisions and its hard to rule out a few with confidence. Again some recruits from the mainland catch the eye Divine Covey (ex Hannon) and Never Back Down (ex Hugo Palmer) could be anything and should be watched and noted if running with any promise. Inspection Point warrants a mention and it was very hard to leave out POWERSVILLE who was in great form early last season with 2 wins and a runner up and back to a similar mark. was r/up here off 58 drawn 2, won off 62 drawn 3 and runs off 61 today drawn 3, the main reason I'm not tipping is that it lacks prep races on AW and only that puts me off. One I fear massively.

I will put my faith though in TWENTY MINUTES a Course and Distance winner, usually runs in better company who runs well fresh, drawn 15 when winning over CD on Good Going and runs from stall 13 today. The other on is FIT FOR FUNCTION who is drawn 15 here, won at Gowran over further and good from at this trip, will need a decent pace and likely to get it on this type of Ground and one I can see reeling them in late home.

(if either tip is a n/r use Powersville and I'll have a small T/Cast perm with those 3).

1/2 point each way on TWENTY MINUTES and FIT FOR FUNCTION
