LEOPARDSTOWN 4.00
I always like Course form here and this is far trickier at face value than the 2nd Division of this race at 4.30 which we will look at below.
The Draw suggests a low number if favourable but the other flank delivers often enough and more often on better Ground to make me think the Draw is less of a factor than Course form.
Plenty have chances and of those Drawn Low I would particularly fear Aunty Audrey and Guiding . Of the remainder Dromod Lad; Global Pass and Lady Savannah were closely and carefully considered and big runs from either of those 3 would not surprise me at all.
I kept coming back to 2 Course specialists though, drawn at the higher end who have some nice collateral form and who I think look the strongest options at nice e/w prices.
AIRGEAD won over Course and Distance drawn low last August, up 9lbs for that but a horse I like and have backed for profit at the right times on the right days and one I think will be readied for this. In that race the 4th home was MUNFALLET and that one gets a very nice pull drawn 20 here and could get a very nice run up the rail and I'm convinced that where Airgead finishes that Munfallet will be very adjacent.
Sporting e/w pair so 1/2 point each way on AIRGEAD and MUNFALLET.
LEOPARDSTOWN 4.30
This looks a far less complicated race and a lot more "dead wood". We can't write off something springing to early form readied with a plan but darned if I can find one with any confidence.
I will have a "win saver" on TREBLE CONE has to be the one to beat here on Course form.
Angelorum has a bit of Course form for John Oxx, as does Santorini Sun and they would not surprise me if running well and old Tennessee Waltz has it in him to pop up at very nice odds.
The one I most fancy at decent odds for a place though is FAIR GAME drawn 4, a front runner, has run well fresh before off a nice mark and one I think that could play "catch me if you can" from a low Draw.
1 POINT Win saver on TREBLE CONE and 1/2 point each way on FAIR GAME.
