Sean - Tipperary 3.15
By Irish Racing (Sean aka Placespotter)
TIPPERARY 3.15 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles - 12 run - Going Good.
I found this race intriguing as after 2 hours of form analysis and watching back replays I had finished where I started really in thinking that I believe that at the head of the Market that Sweet Sting, who is up 6lbs for an excellent CD win and Hello Pilgrim, who was a very good runner up to a bit of a tartar last time, would fight out the finish, and more solid in my eyes than West Cork Highway, who ran too freely in a race on Sunday, and who may or may not reappear.
I retain though a nagging view that there are a couple who are way over-priced here though, and the question is how to play them, ot indeed if to play them, but I cannot let them completely pass. So, I will have a small reverse forecast on SWEET STING and HELLO PILGRIM to cover the point I am going to divide between a pair of others later.
Of the others, other than the selections, I think Major Destination may just need this run for the in form Noel Meade but absolutely one to Track on after today and I also fear Dragon Houdini, about whom stamina is the main concern and the prolific The Trigger, a 5 time winner already this truncated season, including over Course and Distance.
This is a tough and tight little contest and right at the bottom of the market is Icanstay @ 33/1 !!!!!!! - a runner up in the Galway Blazer just over a year ago off a Chase mark of 128, and who runs off a hurdle mark here of 110, seemingly right out of form....I wonder?
The pair that I can't leave alone though are O'herewego, who is a Course and Distance winner who should come on significantly for recent seasonal debut. A Course and Distance winner off marks of 96 and 100, a runner up in a tougher race at Navan off a mark of 108, so very interesting back at a Track it clearly likes off a mark of 109.
The other and possibly more intriguing one is Skyace, a facile winner of a Maiden Hurdle here, OK an Elliott hot-pot pulled up lame in that race but Skyace went in to many notebooks. Has struggled so far in Handicaps and may be simply in grip of the handicapper on a mark north of 120, but collateral form from that Maiden Hurdle suggests 115 to 120 may be a true mark but the Course and Distance win memory lingers and I think brings a mark of 124, with Simon Torrens, taking off a nice 5lbs in to more competitive range. Definitely one to follow after today, but I have more than a hunch it could outrun generous Odds and beat more home than in front of it.
So lets play a point on a reverse forecast with SWEET STING and HELLO PILGRIM and have 1/4 point each way on SKYACE and O'HEREWEGO.
