SEAN - Sligo 4.45 - Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - Yielding to Soft (rain)
This is another race that could be run in very attritional conditions.
At the top of the market both Broken Ice for Gavin Cromwell and Paidis Passion will take all the beating with the cromwell horse the one they all have to beat.
I think that the handicapper could now have the measure of Ballyglass Beauty and Gaius, and i feel very much the same about Alfieri and Yennilik who are big dangers.Who's Houdini and Clonguille Way are a pair I will add to the Tracker, one on handicap debut here which could be very informative, the latter a winner who will be winning again once race sharp. This looks like a warm up run for Dubai Devils for a return to Chasing and I reluctantly by-pass The Abbey for the Elliott yard as it's one I simply can't fathom!
I kept coming back to a pair at BIG ish prices and am quietly confident that they can deliver us a profit.
FATHER JED has a Course win and a win at the distance, it's OK on soft ground and is back below a mark of 100 and actually below best win mark of 98. Off a mark of 97 and with Danny Mullins booked its a bit of a "jump off the page" horse, so take the best price you can. LUCAILEM is no less interesting. It's best runs so far have been a Tipperary but both are notable in the context of this race. I think off a mark of 98 it can easily outrun the early odds.
