Sean - Leopardstown Sunday 14th June
By Irish Racing (Sean aka Placespotter)
Leopardstown, Good Ground and some showers so it'll be nice perfect Flat Ground and I'm always very interested in Course form here and the Draw can play a significant role.
3.35 Handicap - 1 Mile 4 Furlongs (18 runners)
My form check and analysis threw up 6 of the 21 horses listed, the main problem being that the top 3 rated are the 3 reserves.
In order of my analysis they would be Leahman (3rd reserve); ILIKEHIM (1st reserve) and Griffyndor (2nd reserve). So a conundrum there to solve in terms of Staking.
The other 3 who are declared in order of preference are SICARIO, Roman Warrior and Secret Wizard.
Lets deal with those 3 first.
Roman Warrior and Secret Wizard are both of significant form interest and I think will run very well. The nagging doubt with both is the trip and for that reason I fear them but just have the feeling something will grab them close home unless they get an easy lead. On firmer Going I would have been more confident of them getting the trip.
SICARIO has had it's 2 best turf runs here off marks in the low 70's. It hasn't really replicated that elsewhere or on the AW but the trip looks fine and a mark of 62 and a slight drop in Grade looks promising. It is being nibbled at, which is usually a good sign.
Of the reserves IF it gets a run I would have a Tracker stake on ILIKEHIM who was runner up over a furlong further here off a mark of 58 last August and off an even more impressive 68 a year before that. The mark of 56 and the Course form is therefore very interesting. I wouldn't rule out either of the other reserves with a run and if you fancy a dabble at the off "with a run" I'd not put anyone off
TIP - SICARIO - Tracker (with a run) ILIKEHIM.
5.15 Handicap - 1 mile (18 run)
The analysis for this threw up 4 options and again the top rated is first reserve KINCH.
KLINCH has a nice draw; decent form and with a run would be a TIP. 1 point each way.
Of those that run STARLIGHT DANCER is a Tracker tip (1/2 point each way) ; has a nice chance at the weights some decent form at this level. I have a slight doubt about the trip but indications it will see it out and a sporting each way chance. The other one I pondered over was Gatsby Gap, who is off a nice mark and a nice draw but on 2 runs here has been very disappointing but one I would fear other than that.
The tip at a sporting price is ATLAS who has Course and Distance form, blinkers (which have been beneficial) are back on and the only niggle is the draw but one i like a lot and also being "nibbled at".
TIP - ATLAS / Tracker - Starlight Dancer - (with a run KINCH - 1 point e/w)
