SEAN - Cork Sunday 16th October

By Irish Racing (Sean aka Placespotter)

SEAN - Cork - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 3 furlongs - 2 Divisions - Good to Yielding (possibly heavy rain during the hours before racing)

2.30 Division 1 -:

There are a lot of unanswered questions in here, at the top end of the market LOndonofficecallin who was a runner up last time, has solid claims, L'Or Des Roses has a poor 3 mile P2P background and four average runs at Downpatrick and Venezio Springs has better previous form than most and would have a decent each way chance. Of those if you wanted a win saver on Londonofficecallin at anything around 3/1 I would not put you off.

Of the remainder, Shean Glory would not welcome too much rain, Toor Hawk may need considerably further in terms of trip, Karla Martina is out of form and we need to see some sort of improvement, Go Gill Go may find the trip a bit taxing, and The Holmeister probably needs some respite from the handicapper and I'm not sure of the trip or the Going.

A couple at big prices did catch my eye, MERRY MOVES was a 3 mile P2P winner and showed some promise in Maiden Hurdles. It has yet to fire in handicaps but the mark is slowly receding and it is one who will find a level. On some collateral form lines a mark of 90 begins to look competitive and I'll have a small investment today and ADD to the TRacker (see below)

FLY DE MAEGAUDAIS is a Chase winner and has bits of Hurdle form prior to going Chasing. It is race fit and in this field that may count for a lot and if taking back to the smaller obstacles, I'll be disappointed if its not in the first 5-6 home.

SHRAPNEL - Merry Moves + Fly De Megaudais (consider win saver on Londonofficecallin)

3.05 - Division 2 -:

This look far more clear cut and its hard to find too much to take on the top of the market.

CORKBEG and KILGOREY look very solid in the context of the race, if you want to consider a reverse Forecast and for T/Cast perm lovers I'd just prefer Light Parade to Beeverstown Bullet for that type of bet.

Of the remainder, very few to note.

Ben Vrackie was once a 100 + rated Class 2 Flat horse for John Gosden and must wonder what he has deserved to be running at this level. Clearly has had some health issues but the CV shines in this field.

In terms of a small investment, POWERFUL VIEW showed signs of coming to hand last time and would be the best each way option if the top 4 fail and I'd fancy it over Beaverstown Bullet.

Shrapnel - Powerful Blue (consider forecast / Tricast Perm options)
