Roscommon 5.13

Stealthy Tom is early market leader for Enda Bolger and won at 2 and a half miles last time off 104  and 3 miles in the past off a mark of 96, clearly in fine fettle
but I'm far from convinced about it winning in this field off 114. Elliott runs The Abbey who has won its last two races in workmanlike style off marks of 97 and 106, off 117 here it takes a definite rise in Class and quality. Elliott also runs Hurricane Georgie off top weight and its got a solid chance but a couple really do catch my eye to beat all of those.

At bigger odds I would never rule out Snugsborough Hall round here and a shrapnel bet may not go amiss and Walking on Glass will surely outrun its early long  odds.

I really do like the De Bromhead pair here though, CHAMPAGNE GOLD has been highly tried at Cheltenham and Punchestown and ran well enough, this is definitely calmer waters for it and it might be a nice opportunity to regain the winning habit, it's a nice weight and mark and I'll be bitterly disappointed to be frank if it doesn't win here with a clear round. Stablemate POPONG has a Course win, was runner up in this race last year off a mark of 132 (beating Snugsborough Hall who finished 3rd) it runs off a mark of 130 here and a recent quiet prep run will have firmed him up and I'll be very disappointed if this one doesn't place and run its stablemate very close indeed.

TIPS (1) Champagne Gold / (2) Popong
