Punchestown 4.35

 

A competitive if moderate bunch and several look to have decent chances, some will ned this run, some will definitely improve for recent runs.

 

The Going is yielding, no excuses really for anything.

 

I want to take on the top 2 in the market, Casamari Abbey won last time out, ran a promising race time before that, handicapper has given a 4lbs penalty that seems fair, clearly the one to beat but I'm keen to take that chance. Fighting Fit is anything but what it's name suggests, I think will come on for the run and nothing to suggest it'll be ready first time out, if it is, again, I'll take it on the chin.

 

Georgieshore needed seasonal debut and I think will need this too but one to track after today in similar races. Balkos has some nice Course and Distance form, like Fighting Fit my assessment is it'll need this run to put him spot on. Bellaney Gem is of longer term interest too, 6th over Course and Distance recently, I expect further improvement today and in future and definitely one to Track and follow, a danger today but just misses out on my 2 picks, but a handy reserve if either selection was a non runner.

 

MIDLAND MILLIE with the capable assistance of Rachel Blackmore made a very promising reappearance for Arthur Moore. Looks ready to strike off a nice mark and probably this is now the perfect trip. It will be very frustrating if not placed at the very least.

 

FLEURYS FORT is the Tracker bet, a winner not too far back and ran at the wrong trip last time, not sure why but back at this trip has excellent each way hopes. Another who runs consistently in this Grade, so minimum expectation is an enhanced place.
