SEAN - Listowel 3.15 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles - 15 run - Yielding (rain showers)
After a few days Racing here the Going is starting to deteriorate through wear and tear and also with more heavy showers possible.
It's hard to overlook CALL THE TUNE who looks a decent bet at the price to show them all the way home the trip is ideal, the Going no problem and off a nice mark of 114 should be the one they all have to beat at a backable price.
Moonovercloon is 9lbs above it's last win mark and fell last time when under pressure close home, Foxfire Glow has form figures of 3-3-1-1- makes handicap debut but is unpo=roven at the trip and might not appreciate any more deterioration in the ground. Hand Over Fist is another progressive horse and will be a big danger but a 6lbs rise and a preference so far for Good ground just tempers enthusiasm. Another progressive type on a day stacked with bright younger types is Mister Beeton who is a progressive horse who again hasn't yet proven itself in deeper winter ground. Dorans River won for us last Friday at 6/1, is in great form at the moment but a 7lbs rise might finally allow the handicapper to have its measure.
With some many bright young horses around it's easy to overlook the claims of PEACHES AND CREAM but this one brings some proven form at the trip, and over further, will appreciate conditions that again its proven in and looks to be off a nice mark. I think it's a cracking price. If you want a shrapnel bet on another at silly odds then have a look at FULLY CHARGED who gets 3 miles, will come on considerably for a recent return spin and whose best form is on Heavy Going and not discounted for the De Bromhead yard who are in fine form at the moment.
