Killarney 3.35

SEAN - Killarney 3.35 Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 7 furlongs - 15 run - Heavy
The key to the race will be to find horses who can handle the Heavy Going on this tight left handed Course that has significant undulations and which can get deep and Heavy quickly.
The one to beat is Londonofficecalling, a worthy favourite this ex Flat and still dual purpose horse has decent Hurdle form at up to 2 and 1/2 miles but penalised for past successes over Hurdles, upped in trip and no real form on heavy makes it clearly vulnerable in my eyes.
There are a number of horses who could benefit from that vulnerability but most of the likely ones are similarly unproven in Heavy or at the trip or both. Walk Out is best so far at up to 2 and a half miles and has some soft form but poor on sole encounter with heavy, Phils Choice has a similar distance profile and all best form is on good ground, Rossies Tara has yet to encounter heavy but looks progressive, On My Bike is another making slow but steady progress but so far it's been on Good and Yielding ground and perhaps the most likely of these types is WILL IT BE YOU proven at the trip but not on the ground. It's possible any of those could cope with the Going here but with no actual proof, I'll look elsewhere whilst making WILL IT BE YOU the first reserve if either of my 2 selections doesn't run.
Toor Moon at a bigger price is upped in trip and best watched, Old Chap has won at 3 miles on Good ground off a mark of 93 and runs off a decent mark here when you include the riders Claim but again, all of the form is on better ground.
I'm left with a pair i'm most interested in and although a bit of an "odd couple" I will be disappointed if there isn't some net profit to be had.
OH'HEREWEGO is a 14 year old veteran whose best form was off marks between 100 and 110 almost 5 years ago. It's had success at this sort of trip and in this sort of ground. It's basically plodded round for a few years off a declining mark with the odd decent run. It did run particularly well though last time and we've always believed that every horse has a mark and a level it can win off. It's one of the few that we know gets the trip and appreciates the going and that last run suggests enough ability remains to have a solid e/w investment.
THE STREET started life in the Irish 3 mile P2P fields and then went to Emma Lavelle where it looked like a horse to follow in 2022 with a win and place in England off a mark as high as 117. It then lost its way and has returned to Ireland and not yet really found itself again. It turns up here though off a mark of 100, proven at 3 miles and OK in Irish mud. A lot of Lavelle's horses on a couple of occasions in the past 5 years have been blighted by breathing issues coming from OIl Seed Rape in fields adjacent to her Training Bases. She's unfortunate that it's affected her a few times in different locations. IF this horse can get fit and healthy it can and will win races in Ireland off this sort of mark, worth an investment today and definitely worth adding to the TRACKER!
