Kilbeggan 7.30

SEAN - Kilbeggan 7.30 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 16 run (3 reserves) Good to Yielding

As with Hamilton, a chance of a few showers and certainly not the intense heat of mainland Central / Southern England.

As always with this quirky Hurdles Course experience of it and Course form are a plus and many have chances though a significant number have stamina doubts.

At the top end of the market A Different World might find the Going a bit too quick and is therefore opposable, Dancing After Dark and especially He Fitz In are big dangers on Maiden and Novice form both make Handicap debut and neither have what look like easy marks so despite the clear ability both have I'll side with the belief that the handicapper has them where he wants them.

Mizuma will be a real danger if it gets the trip and for me the jury is out on that score, Killinure Lass has a clear chance on a recent Course and Distance win off a mark of 88 but went out too quickly for confidence at Tipperary last time out and off a mark of 92 is clearly feared and of interest but a few too many health worries, so we'll watch from the sidelines tonight. At big Odds a small exchange bet on HOLDITINYOURHEAD might be a fun bet that could deliver one of the enhanced places, its best run this season was off 92 over Course and Distance and it runs off 88 and still only 5 years old so there may still be scope and untapped potential.

The 3 though that I most like against the field are LILY LIGHT FOOT, KEY COMMANDER and  DOUBLE JUBILEE

Lily Lightfoot was runner up in this race last year in a short campaign off a mark of 90, it's had three decent runs this year placing twice and if there is still plenty in the tank it can be very competitive off a mark 0f 91 for Eddie Harty. They clearly favour mid summer and this may be the final chance before the ground turns back to more Autumnal conditions. Key Commander looks to be running in to form on recent evidence, likes this track and runs off a very nice mark of 94 and just ticks every box and looks ready to strike. I think there is a big run somewhere soon in Double Jubilee and a repeat of season debut run at Ballinrobe would see it considerably outrun Odds here.
