SEAN - Dundalk 5.15 Handicap - 1 miles 2 and 1/2 furlongs - 14 run - Standard

 

One of the interesting things about this race is that the second reserve (Fairytale Princess) is the current market leader, and the first reserve (Wajaaha) would be a definite selection "with a run". The likelihood of both getting in is remote but you never know.. WAJAAHA is particularly interesting though so I suggest a shrapnel e/w bet (take the price) and it's a shot to nothing, a confident tip "with a run" and your money back if it doesn't run.

 

The Mpex Kid gets a 7lbs penalty for a win last week and will likely be very short IF the second reserve comes out. Jaafel is a Course winner but the step up in trip raises concerns. Banana Tree has shown some promise and is unexposed. Maralinga has a best Course and Distance runner up mark of 64, copped a 10lbs penalty though for a turf win recently and probably best watched back on the AW because of that.

 

I am going to TRACK Cursory Exam, a Course and Distance winner who may just still need this and ALHAAJEB also a Course and Distance winner off marks of 61 and 65 who both will likely come on for this and who can both "pay their way" for us at this Venue in the coming months.

 

With a shrapnel bet already mentioned for WAJAAHA with a run, my chosen pair are HIDDEN LAND who is a Course winner on an acceptable and competitive mark who drops in trip and has strong e/w claims at a nice price off the likely truly run pace and at bigger Odds GHUMAMA a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 68, back at the right trip here and off a mark of 67 who looks overpriced at 25-33/1.
