Curragh 3.40
By Irish Racing (Sean aka Placespotter)
Curragh 3.40 Irish Cambridgeshire - 1 mile - 20 run - Soft (3 declared reserves) - (heavy rain this morning)
The key here will undoubtedly be the Going, it's soft already, lot of heavy rain forecast before slightly drier afternoon
There are a host of horses who are possibly better at 7 furlongs, a few mile specialists but very few who have decent form at the trip and further on soft to heavy Going.
It's impossible to ignore NJORD, ideal conditions and in form and a win saver bet for me to go with the main tip and a very dangerous reserve horse.
Of the remainder, I fear Quizical but the mark and trip are more of a niggle than the Going, Agitare is unexposed and will enjoy the trip and Going and is a danger but not great market value I dont think. Cyrus Dahlin gets perfect Going off a nice mark but always better at 7 furlongs than a mile I think and both High Altitude and Saltonstall, who was a great winner for us at Galway look a little high in the handicap but likely to run big races too.
In the race Saltonstall won at Galway at the end of July for us we also tipped ONLYHUMAN to finish 3rd and it is again a confident each way tip today. Jessie Harrington has waited for this race I'm sure, the horse is fit but fresh, fine on soft and heavy Going, nice mark and one proven to get a mile and a little bit further too. I will be both surprised and very disappointed if it is not upsides Njord if not in front of it at the finish of the race.
If DARKENED who is 2nd reserve got a run I would have a Tracker bet on it. Ticks a lot of boxes and could surprise a few, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed a couple of those best at 7 furlongs on better Going drop out during the morning.
TIP - ONLYHUMAN - 1 point each way / Win Saver - Njord - 1 point win (Tracker with a run is 22 Darkened a reserve)
