York 3.50 Sprint Trophy - Class 2 6 furlongs (22 declared)
It is going to get very heavy at York too if the forecast is right and this 6 furlong sprint could suit proven mudlarks with form over 7 furlongs. The draw tends to favour lower numbers but if it gets really attritional I think draw will play less of a role and those best suited will find a good enough position to have no real excuses.
By quirk of the draw the 3 that best fit the bill are drawn 19, 20 and 21, not usually ideal but I'm happy to take the risk as I think they can either break and head for the middle of just sit in behind and use proven stamina later on.
HEY JONESY is favourite and the one to beat so I will have a smaller win saver on that one. I prefer GET KNOTTED as the Michael Dods trained horse seems to thrive at this time of year and in these conditions, is in form and still leniently treated by the handicapper on old form. At bigger odds and surprisingly big is COLD STARE and i think the O'Meara trained horse has a very good chance here with best form in soft Going and ran well in a hot 7 furlong race last time where the trip didn't seem an issue. It's a lottery of a race but I am quietly confident of a nice return.
I think the 3 named make a cracking Tricast / Forecast perm strategy too.
