Sharp Distinction is a worthy favourite dropping back to 14 furlongs again but doesn't look great value when you consider best runs have been on the AW and firmer turf. Baileys Khelstar from the Johnston yard is understandably being backed but runs off a high mark and not yet proven on soft Going.
Mukha Magic for Gaye Kelleway is very interesting and a Course and Distance winner but another whose best is generally on firmer turf and synthetic surfaces. Any drying weather and high wind though would bring this one in to contention so very much feared if that happens.
I'm very keen on both SPIT SPOT for James Fanshawe who looks primed to win now and maybe step forwards off the back of that, it showed first signs of ability of turf last time and this trip should be ideal. BUXTED REEL drops in trip and that looks a good move too, it's got winning form in August previously and seems to be coming to the boil once again.
At bigger OddsI suggest smaller shrapnel bets on TRUE COURAGE who is a Course and Distance winner, best on better ground but who will possibly come in to the equation with any drying ground and a £1 e/w type bet on DANIEL DERONDA who has yet to turn some eye catching runs in to anything substantive. The horse travels very sweetly off the bridle but then seems to find very little, if it can be delivered later and gets the breaks it could cause a real surprise.
Tips (1) Spit Spot / (2) Buxted Reel / (3) True Courage / (4) Daniel Deronda - are suggested shrapnel bets)
