Redcar 3.25

By Irish Racing (MG)

Redcar 3.25 7 Munfallet - 1/2 point each way @ + 12 Social Butterfly @ 14/1 / 14 Yorkshire Pudding @ 16/1 - both 1/4 point e/w

(currently 16 runners so odds to 4th place IF non runners check as some may still enhance to 4th)

Not the greatest of races over the 6 furlongs here but a low draw should ensure that MUNFALLET makes the pace or runs prominently, it can get fractions wrong but has probably best jockey in this race and should lead for a long way and hopefully to the line. Vallarta ticks every box except draw and may use up too much pace to get a good tactical position and is not great value as a result. The likes of Lucky Lodge and Cliff are well handicapped but soft turf does not excite me as far as they are concerned.. SOCIAL BUTTERFLY won well at Windsor in soft, I think you can mark that run up as it was for a young girl winning her first race and by her own admission she just "sat there"; a run at Brighton perhaps OK to ignore as that is a quirky track and horse was running against pace bias that day. It gets in here off a mark of 54 and should be nicely drawn to attack.

I looked at Someone Exciting but YORKSHIRE PUDDING also caught my eye as ran better after a break last time over Course and Distance, seems fine on soft and with fitness and confidence increasing, could be one that has the most untapped potential at nice odds. I will allocate 2 points in total on an otherwise tricky day and play a small Tricast Perm for a few quid total and small Unit stake.
