Newbury 4.00

Newbury 4.00 - Class 4 7 Furlongs - 17 run (Heavy)

All my instincts here tell me a high stand draw is a positive BUT more recently, and especially in this race last year on soft, a low draw was a massive advantage.

I ended up focused on 3 horses after looking at Daddys Daughter, Dream Worls, Molls Memory and Mountain Rescue, all of which should be dangers in the conditions but not 100% sure trip and marks are right to win today.

JACKPOT ROYALE won this last year. Mick Appleby comes "mob handed" and his horses who run regularly are always super fit and win if good enough. Runs off a similar mark, again drawn low and very much one of the best each way punts in the race. With a low draw horse tipped, I wanted to play the high draw Card too and in RUM RUNNER think I have found a potential dark horse from a top yard. The trip and conditions look no problem and the form of a runner up effort at Doncaster in mid August is a compelling bit of from.

Of the remainder, Masham Star @ 12/1, down in Class, having had a wind op and a proven stayer over further on heavy could lead them a merry dance for a long way and if the wind job has worked could keep finding a bit more as is the Trainers normal trait!

An intriguing race.

Tips -: JACKPOT ROYALE and RUM RUNNER and Tracker Masham Star...

In the 4.35 over 6 furlongs, far less confident after a long analysis but the 2 x "ice" horses ICE LORD @ 8/1 and ICE AGE @ 11/1 both have bits of form that make them interesting enough for me to have small Tracker bets today.
