Navan 5.10
By Irish Racing (MG)
MICHAEL - Navan 5.10 Handicap Division 2 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - 19 run - Yielding (heavy rain)
Having had a toss of a coin with Sean to pick which race we'd attack, I do think this race has a little bit more depth to it than the Div 1 BUT better overall form to consider so I'm confident we can find some value.
At the top of the market Building Bridges is back on the Flat after winning it's last two Hurdle races over 2 miles 4 furlong and 2 miles 6 furlongs, Barometer is consistent with a trio of 3rd places off marks around 62 and Ellaat is back after a 90 day suspension following a major hiatus about how it was ridden last time. They dominate the top of the market and whilst they could finish 1-2-3 I am convinced there is better value (If you want a small T/Cast Perm to scratch that itch on them feel free)
Vintage Gold and Tory Reel have been added to the tracker based on recent NH form and although they are dangers here I think it's in the Jumping sphere that we should follow them.
Beautiful Chaos is upped in trip and would be a danger if adapting to the trip and conditions, and at very big odds I am intrigued enough by the booking of Seamie Heffernan on Dreams Fled Away to suggest a £1e/w cover bet as the form doesn't explain the Booking!
However, there is a pair I'm really keen on with decent odds and a pair at big odds who I am convinced can outrun them.
BOLERO gets its perfect ground here and can be very competitive on it and off this sort of mark as it proved in the Spring, I'll be very disappointed if its not in the first 4 home, I'm equally confident of a bold and big run too from CHILEAN who was noted staying on at this sort of trip last time. My confidence though is hidden way back in some juvenile form some years ago when Trained by Martyn Meade in the UK which delivered a couple of heavy Going wins that have almost become hidden since.
At bigger Odds the pair I like for enhanced places are CONTRAPPOSTO who ran well at Sligo on its penultimate Flat run and who has enough stamina to romp home to a 2 mile Hurdle win at Cheltenham!, and BEER WITH THE BOYS whose best form is in soft conditions at this sort of trip.
Tips (1) Bolero / (2) Chilean / (3s) Contrapposto / (4s) Beer With The Boys
