Chepstow 5.30
By Irish Racing (MG)
A moderate 12 furlong Class 6 race and a number of unexposed 3 year olds from powerful Yards look to prove their ability over an extended trip.
The likes of Celtic Classic; Kasuka and Tamok all look quite scopey but their prices at near top of the market may be more of a reflection of the Stable they are attached to. If any of them won would be no surprise but I think their odds are restrictive.
My idea of the winner is MENIN GATE who comes from the Fahey yard, a yard with dozens of similar types who placement of the right horse for the right Course is usually very accurate. It has more solid collateral form than almost anything in the race and at about 9/2 can be backed to win or as a place saver.
The one I really like at a price though and the main each way tip is SINNDARELLA who has three advantages most don't have . Is proven to handle the Course with a place off a mark of 49 and beaten by two superior horses that day rated in the mid 60's. The horse also has run well on Good to Firm Going and under a hot sun the Going (even for Chepstow) will be drying all the time especially as this race starts at 5.30pm. The other advantage is proven stamina, clearly gets 12 furlongs, has run and stayed over 14 furlongs and on this long and undulating straight with its steep climbs and falls that stamina, course form and ability on the ground look worth an each way investment.
