Wolferton Stakes Ascot 1.50

 

I can't split the 2 market leaders Fox Tal and Regal Reality so will split a tip bet and stake 1/2 point in each way on a pair at bigger prices, who I think could outrun Odds.

 

Before looking at those a few I discarded include Crossed Baton, notionally Gosdens first choice as Dettori rides. A very promising horse in 2018, almost vanished after early start in 2019 and was gelded. Reappeared to win on AW in November and not seen since. King Ottokar has benefit of a run, a poor one and clearly needed and as it had won fresh before that poor run poses a real question about a horse who otherwise would have been a tracker at least. I will take both on despite them being live dangers.

 

DUBAI WARRIOR is Gosden's 2nd string ridden by Rab Havlin, kept entirely to AW apart from one run on turf in France. This Track is often said to see more uplift in AW form to Turf than any other and the AW profile is strong. Given the ammunition he has I'd suggest Gosden has seen something to pitch up here rather than a strong race elsewhere and that intrigues me.

 

I also like MOUNTAIN RANGER who has won at the Course and also over this trip elsewhere. Could be considered a shade unlucky in this last year meeting interference turning in to the Straight and a horse that runs well fresh from a Yard in great form.
