Windsor 7.00

By Flat Turf UK (The Advisor)

THE ADVISOR - Windsor 7.00 Handicap - Class 3 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 12 run - Going Good

I've had a good look at all of these and think there may be some each way value.

At the top of the market Winforglory has wins at 7 furlongs and a mile, steps up in trip, we really don't know how competitive the initial handicap mark is but I'm happy to take the horse on stepped up in trip as there are too many imponderables. Sanitiser is a Course winner whose best form is at a mile in smaller fields so also vulnerable I think. Barley showed improved form at a mile last time but has yet to convince at this trip and the same stamina concerns put me off La maquina who is best at 7 furlongs so far in the UK although it has run 9 furlongs on the AW in Sakhir in the winter. I'd also have stamina concerns about Mostawaa who is the likely pace angle for a long way.

I think that the handicapper has the measure of Danville a Course and Distance winner off 77 but now up to 83 and another that likes to get on with it, and Gatecrasher Girl who has wins off 66, 72 and 80 in handicaps, stepped up to Listed Class last time but may just need a few pounds off a mark of 83. Taravara has so far been better on AW surfaces than turf and Gorak who has a win over a mile at Ayr last September has shown nothing at all in 3 poor runs so far this season.

That leaves me with TYPICAL WOMAN, COCKALORUM and Life On The Rocks.

TYPICAL WOMAN has won at a mile and placed at 9 furlongs and also this 10 furlong trip and didn't get the smoothest of passages at the trip last time .I think its an improving 3 year old with a bit of scope and well worth an investment. COCKALORUM can be viewed two ways, a cliff horse who is regressive or an horse who isn't what it was but who has enough ability still to find a level and still win races. I think there is still more of the latter about it than the former, it gets a nice draw and drops in Class and its last win off 91 in May last year and places since off marks of 95 and 99 still suggest that off a mark of 84 it really can do some damage.

Finally Life on The Rocks who is the outsider of the 12. It won a 10 furlong race at Ayr off a mark of 73 earlier in the season, has since been gelded and struggled on AW off higher marks, this return to turf off a reduced mark of 76 may see the 4 year old in better shape than at any time since May
