THE ADVISOR - Windsor 3.55 Handicap - 1 mile - Class 5 - 14 run - Heavy
A fair number of these have decent form in soft and heavy conditions and there is a nice spread of progressive 3 year olds and some older horses and that all goes to make it a competitive race and therefore a competitive market with no really short priced favourite. It has some decent enhanced place offers so a race we can attack.
At the head of the market both Dubai Dreamer and Roundabout Silver have serious claims but neither really appeal at a price around 5/1 in the early markets. Darvel is the most likely pace angle but tends to fade late on as does Rival, who does have some good soft ground form, but I feel this pair may set the race up for a closer. Thewaytothestars is a Course and Distance winner who has a win on heavy but the handicap mark looks a bit too high now and it probably needs to come down a little.
At bigger prices Vitalline has been running at 10-12 furlongs but has a 1 mile pedigree and earlier 1 mile form and is very interesting in heavy conditions if not outpaced and losing interest early in the race and the type to outrun odds of around 25-33/1 if you want a £1 shrapnel bet. I've added Zambezi Magic to the TRACKER on its first run in a year, it does have one compelling bit of heavy ground form at Ffos Llas and provided it runs OK today might be very interesting if out before the Flat turf season closes in around a fortnight's time.
My most confident selection though is KYNSA who has been runner up over an extended 7 furlongs and 10 furlongs in soft and heavy, Saffie Osborne rides for dad and this powerful combination looks to have an outstanding chance here. ASTRONOMICA can't be ignored with form figures in 2023 of 12132, may be a little high in the handicap but these are optimum conditions. I like them for a 1-2 and reverse F/Cast. At bigger odds for a shrapnel bet and just preferred to Vitalline is EQUION , a distance winner off 68 at Nottingham, freshened up and needed return run, lightly raced and kept for softer underfoot conditions, I'll be very disappointed if this one isn't in the first four home at nice e/w odds.
Tips (1) Kynsa (2) Astronomica / (3s) Equion
