Wincanton 3.55 - Class 3 Handicap Chase over 3 miles 1 furlong and 30 yards.

 

I think this is the time where we cross over from those summer jumpers who can handle a bit of cut but possibly jarred up a bit by a summer of Good or firmer Going and the genuine winter ground horses who are starting to get fit and ready for action. With no prolonged dry spell this late summer those winter horses should have more work and fitness earlier than last year where it seemed to take ages for NH to really get going due to firm Going.

 

In this race and in that context the pair i liked most against the field at Terry The Fish who has had a needed run and who got this trip over hurdles and whose best Chase run was right handed at market Rasen off a mark a few pounds higher and the Tizzard trained BRAMBLE BROOK who steps up to a more suitable trip than of late, has won and run well on all Going up to Heavy and therefore won't mind any rain and who runs off a mark just a pound higher than a Course win over shorter. Bramble Brook to beat Terry the Fish for me.
