REDCAR 1.15 Class 6 Handicap - 1 mile - 20 Run - Good

A moderate but competitive field and when you analyse closely not too many with proven form at the trip.

This is a straight mile, a bit undulating and takes some getting. It's very easy on these straight mile tracks to do too much too soon and set yourself up as a sitting duck. There aren't any "bridle horses" in here so you want something proven at the trip who will battle and scrap all the way to the line.

A lot of AW form and I like the Southwell (sand) and Newcastle (tapeta) form of a couple as that's a deeper stamina sapping surface so you have some stamina assurance.

I narrowed the 20 down to a short list of 5 and I'm going to "play" 3 of them with plenty of place enhancements on offer.

I'll narrowly discard GLENGARRY who has an obvious chance but I don't think is great each way value at the price and was actually 4th rated and I fear also Bankawi, that one has shown promised a few times but just needs to settle better and if doing too much too soon over this Course may be that "sitting duck" I mentioned. A big danger though if settling and may be worth a small "in running" punt if its hidden in behind after a couple of furlongs.

My 3 against the field in preference order in case you don't want to play all 3 are-:

GLOBAL EXCEED a Course and Distance winner for the in-form Tutty yard. A drawn in Stall 3 looks ideal, won CD off a mark of 55, runs off 53 here, stamina assured, no Going concerns. Has been a bit below par a few times but at this trip and back here a return to form would be no surprise and may have been well placed here by the Yard.

THE RETRIEVER is drawn 14 and I like one high and one lower to cover draw and more so pace angles, its best AW runs have been at this trip running well to and past the line and with Good Going no Turf excuses and it's very fit from AW and could outrun generous Odds.

CURFEWED is capable and best suited by this trip, on a nice handicap mark, yard form isn't great but has more proven formlines than many and I'm banking on a better run.

Redcar 5.50 Handicap - Class 6 - 6 Furlongs - 18 run - Good

In the final race for Amateurs at 5.05 I'll have a Tracker bet on another Tutty horse called WAR OF CLANS who would have an excellent chance here in a very moderate field if replicating its best form when with Karl Burke and should now be settled in new Yard and ready to reward connections.
