At Ascot a couple of races catch the eye of THE ADVISOR.
3.15 Bengough Stakes - Group 3 Class 1 - 6 furlongs - 14 declared.
I narrowed this down to 3 who I thought would appreciate the conditions irrespective of season long form on firmer surfaces.
Vadream placed at Royal Ascot on soft off a mark of 103, likely to be much deeper today off 105 and it's only the fact that this is a 3 year old who may just have had too long a season that puts me off an investment.
Ainsdale at big odds has all of its best form in the Autumn on soft and heavy and has a squeak at the weights and perhaps stronger still is PUNCHBOWL FLYER who also has best form on soft and heavy, has gone up from mid 70's to over 100 in the handicap on this ground with a best win mark of 99. Going is the leveller!
TRACKER - Punchbowl Flyer - (shrapnel - Ainsdale)
3.50 Handicap - Class 2 - 7 furlongs - 17 run
A few caught my eye right at the bottom of the market.
Qaysar won its last race at this trip and steps back a furlong from recent runs. It''s a pound worse off with TOMFRE for a Spring victory but the Beckett horse thrived last backend rolling up a treble off marks of 93 - 97 and 101 and I'm keen on the horse again here off a mark of 103 with Kingscote always an asset in slogs in the mud due to his strength in the saddle.
YOUNG FIRE has won at Haydock off a mark of 96 over this trip and been runner up here off a mark of 100 over a mile and I like the Going and stamina angles in here. Ascension for Varian with David Egan up has a 1 mile win too on Good to Soft off 95 and has won off 96 so has a chance off 99 and finally nearer the top end of the market ESCOBAR ticks every box and surely deserves one of these, CD form, nice mark, fine on soft.
TIP - Escobar / Trackers - Young Fire + Tomfre (if any non runners look at Qaysar and Ascension in that order for Tracker or shrapnel bets / Tricast perm)
