This is a challenging track on which to get the fractions right especially at this trip as they run downhill down the back straight before turning in to climb all the way to the line. A fair few here have stamina concerns and it will pay to play those who we feel have proven stamina and scope to capitalise on it without being outpaced too much early on. It's a long hill to climb with a target on your back at the front.

 

Dual Identity was runner up in this last year and could go close again but the price seems a bit restrictive to me, Eagles Way was a rapid improver last year but has only had a couple of runs this year and with mixed messages and I have a view that the handicapper may just be in charge. Educator is quite hard to assess at this shorter trip than usual, IF he's not outpaced too much down the back he could be a real danger staying on up the hill and wasn't discounted lightly.

 

I really do like the chances of LORD PROTECTOR who has an excellent Course and Distance record and an obvious chance and although Stall 11 may not be ideal, the Course form is a big plus. I equally think this could be the day for GAASSEE who drops from 12 furlongs where it's been fading late on, a prominent run style though should see it at the head or near the head of affairs and if they kick on as they start to climb they will have the knowledge that the horse has 11 furlong stamina for a 10 furlong race.

 

Outside of those pair, I would suggest a shrapnel bet on STAY WELL who also drops to 10 furlongs off a nice mark and it may be a very apt name for the horse on a Track that should suit it at nice odds. 

 

I also have a hunch that KITSUNE POWER @ 28/1 (odds to 5th) who had a very productive 2022 but who has been poor so far this season,  is now coming back to a decent mark and is one to TRACK forwards and not without a small chance today at big odds. One for the notebook.
