Salisbury 5.12

By Flat Turf UK (The Advisor)

Salisbury 5.12 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - Class 4 - 14 run - Soft

The Channon pair of Koeman, who ran yesterday and may not run here today and Single, who has entries elsewhere and may not run if the Going is too soft would have good chances if running.

Whitehaven will certainly appreciate the underfoot conditions with a string of good performances on soft and heavy, but it runs 2 furlongs further than it has before and whilst a massive danger on the ground, you would have to take stamina on trust, especially if it is a truly run race. I wouldn't bout anyone off an each way saver at anything over 6/1 but there's one I think fits the bill better at bigger odds.

Grand Scheme similarly to Whitehaven steps up in trip and has won at Chepstow on soft ground and is another to keep an eye on.

The one I most like though is ORIN SWIFT, Johnny Portman and Hector Crouch have both done us recent favours and are a good combination to follow. The horse has a win at the trip, has placed over 2 miles and best form has been with cut in the ground and best recent run here. Its handicap mark has fallen to a nice level and although not looking like a sure fire winner, it's price and adaptability to conditions do jump off the page at me.

TIP - Orin Swift (I'll play a Tricast Perm with Grand Scheme and Whitehaven and think the selection will just do them for stamina)
