Leicester 5.40

Leicester 5.40 - Handicap Class 5 - Soft - 17 run
An intriguing race of its type and I think a High Draw Stands side is always an asset here in Soft Going.
It's interesting that Ian Williams runs Central City who is a 10 furlong horse in this 7 furlong race, whilst I'd argue that stamina will be an asset it's more likely a nice ride for an up and coming apprentice. If they went off a t a ridiculous pace maybe it's one to have £2 on at huge 900 type price in running.
Sovereign Slipper would be of interest on better Going but drawn low and stepping up in trip in these conditions is a negative in my eyes. Tinochio has shown some glimmers of form too but another who might be caught out stamina wise on this tough track. Yorkshire Pirlo who is drawn 11 has had a wind operation and it will be interesting to see if that brings any immediate reward.
For the tip it's hard to look beyond JOHN CLARE who won the corresponding race last season on Heavy Going. A draw in 8 gives tactical options and not seen as overly-negative, it won this off a mark of 67 last year and runs off 66 here at a decent each way price, so no excuses with luck in running.
I also think that Onaraggatip and Foxy Femme are worth a small investment. The former is drawn in stall 14, decent enough runs at 7 furlongs and a mile on Soft Going and has a solid form chance and Foxy Femme is drawn in 12, a Course and Distance winner won at 1 mile so has the stamina angle and also OK on soft and heavy and that looks like a nice Forecast / Tricast Perm to me too.
TIP - John Clare / Trackers Onaraggatip + Foxy Femme
