4.40 The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes over 12 furlongs and 19 run
Here is the analysis of The Advisor.
An intriguing race with not a lot of soft form on show and not a massive amount of form at the trip either.
The head of the market could be vulnerable on the Going and we like the look of a couple who are second string horses for their respective Trainers but who may be hiding some form and potential in these conditions.
The plunge horse is INDIANAPOLIS, not hard to see why as it has had a run, won in soft and nice mark. However, whilst it may have been good value at 33/1 I'm not sure it is a horse I'd want to back at 10/1. It may well prove me wrong but I'll focus on a few I think have more scope and ability from bigger in form Yards.
DAL HORRISGLE would have been a strong mention but is a non runner and it is one we'll track carefully to see where it turns up next as it has no current Entries.
JOHNNY DRAMA is the Balding second string according to the market but seems to have been overlooked as it's drawn in Stall 20 and also alleged stamina doubts. I think both are misleading as the Course round the rail could be very chewed up by race time and a wide run in to the middle of the track off the home turn could be the place to be. The horse also has form on Yielding/Soft in Ireland and ran runner up over this trip as an unexposed 3 year old before being dropped back down in trip. It's very unexposed for a 5 year old at this trip in soft.
The mention is SCARLET DRAGON for Alan King ridden by Hollie Doyle. It gets 2 miles fine over sticks, runs off a Flat mark a good 10lbs below what it has been competitive off in the past on the Flat and could outrun Odds if those market leaders flounder in the mud.
I would have had a second mention on the aforementioned Dal Horrisgle, so if you want a bit of shrapnel on a real rag at huge Odds, I do think that BYRON FLYER @66/1 could give you a run for your money if the flashier horses just hate conditions.
