Catterick 2.50

Catterick 2.50 Handicap - 7 furlongs - 13 run - Class 5 - soft

The norm here is for low drawn horses to dominate up the far rail. When soft however, they tend to come for the better ground at the top of the slope off the Stands rail and that's where I have focussed my attention.

Two that stand out in that part of the Draw with plenty of form at the trip, in the Going and off decent handicap marks are KUPA RIVER and FLORENZA.

Of the pair I fancy top weight KUPA RIVER the most. Roger Fell's horse has proven form at the trip in Good to Soft Going, runs off a decent mark and off top weight is probably the class horse of the race who can win when the opportunity and conditions fall right. FLORENZA is falling down the handicap but being far from disgraced, looks the type who can do some damage when finding the right mark and is 17lbs below last win mark and suffered from an over inflated handicap mark for quite a while as a result of that win. Has won on soft and a sporting each way punt.

TIP - KUPA RIVER - Tracker - Florenza
