"This is a tricky 2 and a half mile Handicap Chase and we know that this tough right handed track both takes some jumping and places a focus on stamina. I am not particularly keen on anything at the very top of the market under these conditions and think that  RYALEX represents some value at 15/2. It has winning Point 2 Point form over 3 miles, so no stamina worries, ran well here over an inadequate 2 miles before understandably fading, and that run had all the hallmarks of a "pipe opener" in the literal sense. Fitness will be an advantage therefore, runs off a nice mark and Yard just getting going with a nice string again. ROMULUS DU DONJON is very inconsistent but pops up on occasions and at 10/1 is worth a smaller investment. Has been a runner up here off a mark of 103; the Yard is one to follow all winter, gets a decent 7lbs Claim but has fitness advantage too and more than a hunch that a return here could revive him"
