Brighton 4.10

By Flat Turf UK (The Advisor)

Brighton 4.10 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 11 run - Good

A lot of warm weather is expected over the South East and Midlands this week but we are into that time of year where we can get heavy dews and mist and that is more likely here than possibly anywhere else, so we'll assume Good drying ground but not yet bone rattling Firm.

Junoesque is regressive and therefore not really appealing at 7/2 here, Global Style is a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 45, in form but may be stretched to win off a mark of 50. Angel On High will need every Yard and probably best at 11 furlongs and an easy 12 furlongs.

At bigger Odds Headshot for the Tony Carroll yard that can never be discounted here ( could easily write that in capitals) and is some 20lbs below a mark of just 18 months ago so can't be totally discounted despite some very poor form in 2023.

There are a pair that stand out though and one at a big price that may be worth a small investment.

TAWTHEEF has been runner up the last two times it has run over Course and Distance off a mark of 52, it's got in here off a mark of 50 and has to be a very serious proposition. It's also a relatively fresh horse and that may be a bonus against some exposed types.

NO DIGGITY has a very solid record over Course and Distance off marks of 46 and 47. That includes a win last time and the fact it is still in here off 47 is a big plus.

If there is one at a price that is worth a small flutter it may be BBOB ALULA who has Course winning and place form off marks between 50 and 55 all on Good to Firm, it's only had 3 runs this season and was noted showing increased fitness last time, its VERY well handicapped off a mark of 51 and one to follow in the next 6 weeks or so as long as the grounds stays on the Good side.
