STRINGYBACK CREEK get a tick in every box here, Course form, Draw, Going; handicap mark and the only query is fitness. A front runner who should get prominent early from Stall 1 and lead them round the bend and up the hill. IF all goes according to plan the horse may get a nice blow about 2 furlongs out and a second wind to the line. For that reason a 1 point win saver is recommended.
HOW BIZARRE though may be a better each way option. A Course winner off a nice turf mark, some of the expected rain would not inconvenience, drawn in stall 6 it has tactical options and crucially had a run 8 days ago where it looked in need of the run in the closing stages. That run may give it a fitness edge and will be disappointing if not bang in contention here.
(Tangled is one of the Tracker horses who has been very well backed for the Tutty family. It runs off a nice mark, will appreciate the rain and someone may know something fitness wise. One to keep an eye on and if you hear any comments in the Paddock about looking ready to run would not put anyone off a small late investment)

At Gowran in the 2.30 Sean had a close look at Burning Lake and Mutzamm who both have less than obvious chances off these marks but in the end not enough confidence to have a financial investment but both worth tracking for next run. One long term Tracker is Out on Friday in the notebook with a few others from a race here last September, but the Yard have been very quiet and Sean is advised that the horse will need a couple of runs...
We looked at the 4.45 at Newbury too but hard to look past the short priced favourite whose run at Newmarket last week looks very solid early form.
