We're in a bit of a slump at the moment, and it seems that the quality and quantity of opportune races is in the same position. These are seasonal trends and not out of kilter or range of what has happened before. We've always believed that when we have the right ammunition (decent sized fields and competitive handicaps) that we have our best and generally very profitable periods, when the opportunity is not there however, slumps and poor runs can entail. Increasingly over the years and with the experience to see trends, we have abstained or reduced tips and stakes in such cycles and we will do the same.
There are decent Cards at Newbury and Leopardstown tomorrow, and potentially some very competitive and attackabl fields at York, Chester and Sandown on Friday and Saturday, so we will wait for those.
What we have found today are 3 possibly nicely priced horses with decent e/w chances in double figure fields. We strongly suggest reduced Stakes though and possibly a Patent type Perm to small units (3x small unit e/w singles/ 3 x small unit e/w doubles / 1 x small unit e/w treble) - if you can find a bookie doing odds to 4th on some / any of these races then use that Bookie.
