Lingfield 2.47 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 7 furlongs - Class 4 - 11 run - Soft

A decent field here and pretty competitive with plenty having some sort of chance.

Warranty was runner up last time, has top weight here and I don't think I would want the ground getting too soft. I'm much more confident in HOWAYA NOW for a win bet on this occasion, trip, going , mark are all optimum for this horse and I'll be disappointed if he doesn't take this race.

I would have distance and going concerns about Jolie Baie, Chloe's Court has form in better quality races than this and will be a real danger, I will add Fevetre to my TRACKER a Carlisle winner over 3 miles so clearly has stamina but may just need a blow off a break of 246 days.

At big prices Imphal who is a Course and Distance winner back in 2021 but who has not seen a hurdle for almost 2 years would definitely have a squeak on that old Hurdles form and not lightly passed over, I do feel though that the bigger priced value one here is LUCKY SO AND SO who is a Course and Distance runner up in Heavy conditions off a mark of 103in the Spring, looked like it needed the run on seasonal debut and will come on for that and off a mark of 102 is very interesting at around 14/1.

The lurker is the Olly Murphy trained and Sean Bowen ridden Wolfspear, upped in trip and I suspect likely to be heavily backed so one I fear but with the stamina query I'll take it on. (Robin)

LUDLOW 3.10 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - Soft - 11 run

Zestful Hope is the one to beat here but was all out to win at Uttoxeter last time off a mark of 103, the handicapper has been lenient but I will take it on with ASK BREWSTER (I'll also have a small reverse F/Cast on the pair) who had excuses not staying 3 miles last time, the drop back in trip i therefore entirely sensible , going and mark are fine and some each way value at anything over 5/1.

Not too many of the rest offer any great confidence although Moodofthemoment who also steps back in trip could be a player IF the conditions are no worse than Good to Soft.

I do however think that there is value and merit in having a punt on MARTALMIX'JAC who has twice been a runner up over Course and Distance off marks of 76 and 83 in Soft ground last season, he's had a run and should strip fitter and a mark of 85 with a 3 pounds claimer is well within it's scope at a Course that seems to suit.
