Friday 28th February

We think we've found a decent each way poke at Newbury and we also hoe to have found a decent e/w put race at Dundalk on the AW tonight. Brief but concise analysis below-:

Newbury 5.05

9 runners currently in here for this 3 mile Handicap Hurdle and with many having form questions to answer the top of the market has the likes of gamesters Guy and Santos King whose decent form may be vulnerable to something fresher and ready to strike. Champagne Twist definitely has the back form and would be the one they all have to beat if returning to Spring 2024 form and would be my back up IF the Venetia Williams trained RAMO is a non runner. A couple of poor runs over Fences sees this one back over hurdles and it is very well handicapped to capitalise on some decent hUrdle form at this sort of trip, in this sort of ground and off a competitive mark (Robin)

Dundalk 7.30

A low grade AW handicap over 12 furlongs and a fair few basically National Hunt horses having a spin to freshen up for a spring / summer campaign and similarly a couple of Turf Flat horses having a final spin before the Irish Turf season commences in a few weeks time. The top 3 of Omakse who won on it's 5th race back after a 4 year break last time,  Doctor Grace and Nusra look pretty solid if not great value as does Lauroline at around 7/1.

I think that LATIN who likes to bowl along at the front can lead them all a merry dance from Stall 1 and try to make it all, and that may suit FLIER who had an encouraging run over Course and Distance last time and who looks primed.  If there is one at bigger odds worth a bit of shrapnel, have a look at Spirit Of paradise whose best Course form would give it a squeak at this trip off a basement mark of 48 with a 7lbs claim.
