Newbury 4.15

ROBIN - Newbury 4.15 Handicap Chase - Class 3 - 2 miles 6 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Soft (drying day)

At the top end of the market if you want a win saver DUC DE BEAUCHENE looks by far the safest option to me to David Pipe and Tom Scudamore as I think the horse will relish the trip and conditions. Of the others being well supported, Quick Draw lacks experience for me in this sphere, Your Darling was Pulled up last time, Sam Barton would appear to so far be better over Hurdles and Animal steps up in Class.

There were 3 at bigger prices that caught my eye . KAUTO THE KING in particular may have found its ideal trip and drying ground will boost its chances and 2 and a half doesn't seem far enough now and 3 miles still seems a shade too far. I can't find any excuses why the horse shouldn't step up at this trip off a nice mark.

JOUEUR BRESILIEN drops in trip and Adam Wedge rides for Reb Curtis, the horse has shown on more than one occasion that it has an engine and this long straight may help it off a reducing mark. KEEP WONDERING for Phillip Hobbs has good P2P form at 3 miles, and although its best runs are on softer Going I think there will be enough juice to bring some proven stamina into play on a Course that is one of the stiffer ones in terms of trip.

TRACKER - Kauto The King / Shrapnel - Joueur Bresilien + Keep Wondering. (Duc De Beauchene - win saver for those that want to have that saver bet)
