Exeter 6.40

ROBIN T - Exeter 6.40 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 furlongs - Good - 18 run

A lot of these don;t have proven stamina but may enjoy the better ground and step up as a result.

Blended Stealth in first time cheek-pieces for Twiston-Davies looks the one to beat and at the top end of the market MISS M who is in the Tracker and the L31 suggested bet could be a win saver if you wish.

Kapitaliste runs the track well but has to prove stamina as do a glut of others like Get Supreme (who may also need the run); Sienna Royale (another course specialist); Miss Harriet (whose best form is on sharper flatter tracks); Novus Aditus (a Course winner all out though at 2 miles 3 furlongs).

The veteran Lets Go Duchess can't be overlook and ticks many boxes but may just need this off a 100 plus day break and the real dark horse is Kimarelli for Phillip Hobbs who so nearly delivered us a winner yesterday, this one has never been beyond 2 miles though but interesting on handicap debut.

I was left with a short list of three and of them I most like LAKESIDE LAD who showed signs of returning to form last time out, it had 15 months off but proven at the trip and on this type of Going and if fully tuned up now after 2 runs ticks all the right boxes. The other main one is LAKE SHORE DRIVE who has won a Handicap Hurdle at 2 miles 7 and 1/2 furlongs back in 2017, mainly raced at shorter since but off this mark could be competitive if fit enough off a break of 93 days which hopefully has freshened it up too. One to track after today though for sure.

If there is one who has to prove stamina who intrigue me the most it's John Spearings SHUTTHEGATE with Jamie Moore, an interesting booking. It has won at 2 miles 3 furlongs in heavy off a mark of 79 at Warwick and the step up in trip is not something this shrewd Trainer would do lightly.
