You'd find it hard to cross much out here but after a long season I like to look at fresh type at this time and ones that will appreciate genuine Spring ground.

 

I narrowed my selection down to 3 sporting punts and will just discard Small Present who I think could outrun it's odds.

 

My pair against the field though are PILEON who has won off a mark of 131, placed on this New Course off a mark of 138 and will have been aimed at this better ground off a mark of 134 for Phillip Hobbs and Ben Jones.

 

Nicky Henderson won't entirely have given up on the TRainers title but would need to win just about every better race he can to nick it from Paul Nicholls and this is one of the better midweek prizes. So it's likely that HAUL AWAY will be plenty fit enough to do itself justice . A winner off marks of 127 and 131 its still a progressive type and clearly has a chance if fit enough and Hendersons are rarely sent to any Course lacking fitness.
