Naas Thursday 4th April

SEAN - Naas

Some big fields at Naas today and I will attack a 25 runner and a 23 runner handicap but fields are not that deep but a few at nice prices could run big races to back up 2 main selections in each race.

4.15 - 2 miles 3 furlongs Handicap Hurdle - 25 run (3 reserves)

I prefer Jouster who looks progressive and capable of overcoming an 8lbs penalty to Sally Attwell who was runner up to Jouster last time and who gets a 4lbs penalty, I think the cromwell horse has more scope and both are fancied to beat early favourite Hillsdale.

Many of the other more fancied ones may need to run but I am very keen to TRACK Early Arrival whose form last Spring was interesting but who may need this off a break of 4 months.

At bigger Odds both Clear The Clouds and That's About Right have shown distinct promise over further than this but both look capable of bringing that proven stamina to the fore over this shorter distance in likely attritional conditions where many may go off too quickly and set the race up for closes with proven stamina.

Tips (1) Jouster / (2) Sally Attwell / (3s) Clear The Clouds / (4s) That's About Right

4.50 - 3 miles Handicap Hurdle - 23 run

This 3 mile trip will take some getting and I'm happy to take on both Jeronimo De L'Ouch who is upped in trip and Likeable Chancer who is very consistent but not a win or each way bet for me at 9/2. A couple to note but not for investment are Aghmorough Bridge whose prominent running style may take it a long way in to the race and possibly nick an enhanced place and at huge Odds the 12 year old Queensteel, who has only had a handful of career runs but includes a 3 mile Handicap Hurdle win in heavy ground in those runs and one worth a £1e/w punt!

My top 4 and by some distance on analysis are Mahler Appeal who has the most solid and consistent form on offer, Padraigs Boy who went in to my notebook at Navan last time staying on well and the form of that race has been franked as very solid a few times. For some shrapnel at bigger odds both Falcon Park, who has some placed form in heavy conditions and who has shown that 3 miles is within range and Oneforgonzo, who was noted staying on well when falling over 2 miles 6 furlongs last time on heavy ground, look very capable of taking a hand here.

Tips - (1) Mahler Appeal / (2) Padraigs Boy / (3s) Falcon Park / (4s) Oneforgonzo
